There’s a ton of things you can do to your site with on-page SEO to make your search rankings increase. Here’s 4 quick tips to boost your on-page SEO.

Here’s the basic four things we’re going to cover in this lesson:

Content Markup
Structure of your site
Rich Text Markup
Social signals

Content Markup

Title Tag and Meta Descriptions

Put your keyword in the title tag and meta descriptions. Use the Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress to do this. It’s free and really great.

H1 Tag with Keyword in it

WordPress usually auto-sets your H1 to the same thing as whatever you set your title as on a new post.

Multimedia and images

Use pictures and other multimedia in your posts and pages. Google likes that.

Include relevant links in your content

This is both internal and external links.

Structure of your site

Use proper navigation menus

Put a menu on the top of your page and on the bottom. Put links to only the most important pages on your site at the top. Put links to all the other pages on your site on the bottom menu.

Proper URL structure

If you’re using WordPress, go to Click Settings and Permalinks and click the Custom Structure radio button.

Rich Text Markup and Rich Text Snippets

Google used to use this cool thing called Authorship that was really great. But they kind of don’t anymore, so now it’s all about Rich Text Snippets.

If you’re using WordPress, you can also check out the All In One Schemaorg Rich Text Snippets plugin.

Use the Google Webmaster Tools Rich Snippets tool to test what your site looks like in terms of its rich text snippets.

Social signals

Put social buttons on your site so users can visit you on social media. Put social sharing buttons on your posts so users can share your content on their own social media profiles.
