**UPDATE – here is a link to a fantastic editorial calendar template provided by Hubspot: http://offers.hubspot.com/blog-editorial-calendar
This Quick Tip is about using a content calendar (aka an editorial calendar) to organize and schedule your upcoming blog posts.
A content calendar is exactly what the name suggests – a calendar that helps you set up your blog posts in advance, so that you can remain organized and accountable with your blogging.
Content calendars can be created using applications such as iCal, Google Calendar, Excel or even a pen and paper.
Here is an example of what an article on a content calendar might look like:
Date: Wednesday May 22nd
Title: “The Best Running Shoes for Marathon Runners”
Notes: review the top 5 running shoes that are best for marathon runners, include technical specs on the shoes, price, and where they can be found. Cite sources.
Keywords: “shoes for marathon runners”, “marathon runner equipment”, “best shoes for running long distance”
Creating a content calendar not only keeps you on track with your blogging, but if followed, will help you create content on a consistent basis, which is part of blogging success.
